Not sure if this is better reported here or against the gala plugin.

We should read in the .desktop files and pre-populate the array with apps we find with "X-GNOME-UsesNotifications=true"

In this way, users will be able to pro-actively configure notifications for installed apps without having to wait for them to send a notification first.

Maybe that could be done using the GLib.DesktopAppInfo class.

Do we want notification which don't have .desktop to be populated?

gnome-settings-daemon-printer? (I don't know if its ever shown)

We could check the "NoDisplay"-Key to decide if it should be shown.

Doesn't NoDisplay only express that it shouldn't be shown from menu?
Some Program with NoDisplay might be usefull, e.g file-roller (ok, file-roller not yet NoDisplay, but there is some discussion on it)

Btw, is l-admin-3 the same guy as progieXXXS ?
