Bug Description

Most elementary (and Gnome) apps are now GTK3 and hence don't support window shading (afaik), therefore the corresponding entries in Shortcuts should be removed as they are useless.

I can confirm this doesn't do anything for Gtk3 apps

Hi,
Gtk3 *does* still support shade, but not for CSD windows.
I'm currently running Ubuntu 15.04, I can shade the terminal (non CSD), but not Nautilus (CSD).

Personally I think they should support shading on CSD windows, but in the upstream bug I think they are not going to fix it, it is quite tempting to try and provide and patch though.

Isn't it planned that all Gtk apps use CSD (not necessarily with headerbars!) in the long term?

Personally I think there is no use for shading (it's basically an awkward way of minimizing a window). Personally ;)
