system settings 'about' does not show my sound card (Realtek) it doesn't seem to be detected at all.

Bug Description
I have a Philips freevents X56 which is a bit notorious in Ubuntu forums for being hard to install properly. However elementary OS went in like a dream, except that I find the Realtek sound card seems to have escaped detection. Strange because Function key links to volume control operate fine on the on-screen controls, except there's no sound output!
