You are right about sending multiple invitation. But this is not a bug for the support point map project. As ubuntu-be.org is the only (current) user of the legacy code, there is no need to put additional effort to streamline a complete migration procedure including invitation to re-new commitments and data importation.
Regarding the Ubuntu-be.org, the plan is to write a sinlge use import script. I don't think sending the invitations will be handled in this import script. This is additional programming work. Instead, I will provide a CSV or ODS file to allow other solutions to be used (manual, scripted outside of the website, etc.).
