check requirement should be optional for building somewhere that check doesn't build

I'm having trouble compiling subunit on Solaris. It requires check, which itself has problems building on Solaris. Can we make the check depend optional?

not having a solaris install I'll be dependent on patches.

Yes, for sure, though distcheck and check will obviously fail without
the test suite. Please file a bug on check itself with the compile error
you get there, and let me know the bug number.

I've marked it wishlist, as building in a situation where subunit can't be validated to be working right isn't intrinsically interesting. That said, I'd be happy to see this fixed.
