Bug Description

In the 24.04 Beta server image installer, there is a bug that prevents or impairs creation of LVM volume groups. Briefly, in the pop-up window in which constituent PVs are to be selected for a volume group (VG), all the detected disks (and partitions) are there, and selectable, but the text is black-on-black.

To reproduce this:

Use the 24.04 beta server installation.

Select LVM (don't customize)

On the next screen, there is a summary at the top, then a section for available PVs, and a section for used PVs. In the third section, you cannot edit a VG that has a logical volume (LV) already defined (which seems like a separate issue, since you may wish to rename it). Delete the automatically-defined LV from the automatically-defined VG in order to edit the VG.

Select the VG, hit enter, then select "edit".

On the next pop-up window, there should be a list of physical volumes (PVs). They are there, but in black text on black background. If you have only one disk in the system, you can without difficulty select the correct partition (as it will be markedly different size than the EFI or boot partition). On the other hand, if you have many disks, it may be impossible to correctly select the intended partition/PV with certainy, especially if you have many partitions of the same size.
