Bug Description
Xubuntu noble install on
- hp dc7700 (c2d-e6230, 7gb, amd/ati rv610/radeon hd2400 pro/xt)
Manual partitioning install; system has two prior noble installs (sda1 & sda2) so I selected to install to sda2 (ext4 with compulsory format)
** Expected result
install completes & I can boot into grub, be offered a prior lubuntu install, or this new xubuntu install
** Actual result
install stopped reporting "Something went wrong"... thus this report.
on reboot, it booted straight into lubuntu.. it appears grub-install wasn't run

on reboot, the newly installed system was not offered at grub; it likely never got to `grub-install` execution... install QA testcase failed.
