Bug Description

Tried to install Ubuntu 23.10 beta on a qemu brand new VM, on a virtualbox brand new vm and on a physical pc (both with HD already partitioned with Ubuntu 22.04 and windows 11 in dual boot and after having repartitioned HD itself) and in every test installation failed.

In third test (physical VM, already partitioned disk, choosing "other" in partition choice mask) installation fails but at reboot OS comes up but is impossible to log in, even creating a new user from rescue boot and reinstalling lightdm.

In first, second and fourth case, installation failed but OS came up at reboot and it has been possible logging in.

Here attached logs from fourth test (physical pc, HD repartitioned)

Hi Silvia,

Thank you for your bug report.

The symptoms are similar to what I investigated earlier today in bug 2036966 ; so I will mark it as a duplicate.

The multiverse component is disabled and ubuntu-restricted-addons is part of multiverse.

Best regards,
Olivier
