Hello and thank you for your bug report.

It seems that the UEFI implementation on your system allows for a BootCurrent setting that does not have an associated BootXXXX entry. When trying to set the install media as the first boot entry, efibootmgr raises an exception because of it.

By default, after an install, curtin tries to set the install media as the default boot entry, i.e., BootOrder="$BootCurrent:$BootOrder"

Since we got multiple private reports of the same problem, I've created a public one and will merge your bug report into it: https://bugs.launchpad.net/curtin/+bug/2018280

A fix has been committed to disable the reordering of UEFI boot entries but there might be another fix needed to address the bug.

Thanks,
Olivier
