Bug Description

I'm trying to install Ubuntu server 22.04 on KVM using virsh and a virtual serial port. After pxe booting and pulling down the cd, the autoinstall stops on a screen that says it's a "basic installer" due to the serial port. This prevents the autoinstaller from grabbing the autoinstall files and continuing to install.

Is there a way to disable the "basic installer" so I can proceed with the autoinstaller?

Hi Yancy, thanks for the report.

I remember hearing another report about this, that was in the context of updating the snap. Do you need fixes from the latest snap? If not, or if unsure, maybe retry with the 'update:' option of 'refresh-installer' set to "no".

Hope that helps.

Thank you Dan, I tried setting refresh-install's update: to false. It still boots into the "basic serial installer".

I just ran into this issue with 22.04 using Lima on MacOs. I tried the suggested fix and it still loads the "basic installer".
