This issue occured when server connect network and the ip can access Internet.
This issue will disappear when 1)don't plug network cable or 2)disable Network interface->"continue without network" during installation

Ubuntu Kernel Bot (ubuntu-kernel-bot) wrote : Missing required logs.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1998168

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

This change has been made by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team.

Also, are you sure this isn't an issue with the lab networking, since you said that it works fine if you disable networking.

I will raise this with the team that handles the installer, because this could be handled more gracefully.

I have tried configure a network which can access internet(like:www.baidu.com) and ubuntu 20.04.5 can be installed successful in my new environment.
So could you help to point out the root cause of this defect shown in sos report log?

Hello Jimmy,

It seems that your network rejected HTTP calls to the Internet. This prevented the installer from receiving the list of packages to install (via apt-get update) from the Internet. Presumably, it could be a proxy related issue in your network.

Offline install is an alternative option where packages are only installed from the media/cdrom (this excludes security updates that can only be installed at a later stage). As you noticed though, to run an offline install, you would need to either disable networking or at least disable any ipv4 / ipv6 address in the installer's network screen.

Olivier
