Screen 'Installation type' says: This computer has Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and Ubuntu Kinetic Kudu on it. What would you like to do?'
On this computer I have 2 partitions with Ubuntu 22.04 and 2 partitions with Kinetic but I may have many and you can't list all so I think is better 'This computer has multiple operating systems...' like in old Ubiquity.

I selected: 'Something else'
Following screen 'Allocate disk space' list partitions on my disks but does not display OS in
each partition like was on old Ubiquity. see attached screenshot.

I selected sdb2 for install, sdb2 is already formatted ext4 but contains old data. installer creates some new data in sdb2 but DOES NOT REFORMAT the partition.
In the screen 'Allocate disk space - Edit partition' can not select 'Format the partition'

continuing the install crashes once with bug 1982664, on a second try with bug 1982678

probert may not have detected all existing OSes because currently, the message is simply selected based on the number of existing operating systems that were detected. The message in the GUI should be improved to take into account that one may have the same OS installed multiple times:

Thanks for bringing this up. We have that info available now so it's easy to fix in the GUI: https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-desktop-installer/pull/1044
