Bug Description

I found that the jammy-live-server-2022-03-10-amd64.iso is not able to set up the NIC to use IPv4 Static, nor be switched back to DHCP once Static addressing has been attempted.

I started an UbuntuForums thread here to seek confirmation if it sounded like there was a defect, or if I was entering incorrect input.

Unable to select manual IPv4 during attempted installation of 22.04 Jammy
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2472852

The settings I put in for Manual IPv4 are as follows:

Subnet: 10.10.10.0/24
Address: 10.10.10.9
Gateway: 10.10.10.1
Name server: 10.10.10.10

Pushing Save blanked out the name server field, and it never finishes the "Applying changes" step.

We have a Class C IPv4 subnet. Addresses 10.10.10.1 through 10.10.10.254

I tried adjusting back to DHCP vs manual... now it also no longer picks up an address from our DHCP server. The spinning "Applying changes" attempting to test DHCP again.

Terrific! I pulled down the jammy-live-server-2022-03-14-amd64.iso just now, and it looks like most of this defect has already been resolved!

I was able to set the IPv4 static IP successfully.

I was able to switch back to DHCP successfully.

I was able to switch back to IPv4 static IP successfully.

The only remaining point I see mentioned above it the name server field gets blanked out... does not retain the value I enter in it.

Good work team! Seeing if I can get through the Jammy Server installation finally...

Once the Jammy Server installation finished successfully, I applied the latest updates and IPL'ed the test server.

I then used the command "resolvectl status" to inspect the status of the static IP DNS server. Indeed the desired 10.10.10.10 address is listed there. Evidently just a display issue within subiquity.
