ubuntu-desktop-installer - no keyboard layout choices

ubuntu jammy desktop (canary) install on
- sony vaio svp112a1cw (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)

this issue has been reported before (& [reported on community hub](https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/new-desktop-installer-preview-build/24765/16)) but I need lp.bug report to tag it on iso.qa.ubuntu.com (I didn't see duplicate; will mark this duplicate if my scan wasn't complete)

I have to pick a keyboard layout but none are offered. I cannot advance (continue is grey) but am stuck picking from no options.

I used GOBACK to return to language and entered the dialog again, and it was still blank (devoid of choices)

This was repeat again (GOBACK & CONTINUE) again with no choices.

I used GOBACK to return to languages & this time picked other than the default ENGLISH (which was implied-accepted via CONTINUE and not chosen via mouse/keyboard) then switched language back to ENGLISH and finally I got choices in keyboard layout.

ie. I needed to return to prior screen, select a different language choice (not pressing ENTER/continue), then return to english to make choices appear in keyboard layouts.
