Bug Description

Downloaded the 20.04 desktop ISO from https://ubuntu.com/#download last Monday (July 27th), copied it to a USB stick and tried to run it on my desktop. The installer spins forever and the 2nd console shows something like (can't remember the exact wording) 'stdio: Invalid argument' and 'Unable to find livecd root filesystem on /dev/xyz'. Tried different USB sticks, different USB ports and also burned the ISO to a DVD, same result. I finally managed to get the installer going after disabling the SATA controller in the BIOS. I have a CDROM and an HDD which is my /home attached to that controller. Ran a filesystem check on the HDD but it's all clean.
