Bug Description

using meade/autostar setting, telescope is recognized and initiated, slewing does work. Question regarding where should telescope icon starting position be. if scope is polar aligned and scope is pointing to Polaris, would assume that starting position of telescope control would also be Polaris, but in program it is in random position below and to the left of star. additionally, when highlighting an object as target and slewing to it, telescope icon never slews to object, always below and either left or right of object.

Fact is, it would be a nice feature in the telescope configuration (I suggest within the User Interface Setting) adding a checkbox or button to choose J2000 versus JNow for incoming coordinates.

This should eliminate the offset-error in the display of the telescope marker, due to the fact, that the SynScan hand controller (HC, actual Vers. 3.35) is sending JNow coordinates back to Stellarium. [For targeting, the conversion of stellarium GoTo-coordinates (RA,DE J2000) to actual coordinates is done by the HC.]

With high appreciation to the stellarium project :)

For quite some time, there has been a J2000/JNow switch in the Telescope Control plug-in. It was added after a certain manufacturer updated the firmware of their devices and they started to interpret the coordinates passed to them as JNow.

If this issue has been fixed quite some time ago, can we mark it as solved?

I see no reason to keep this open. The J2000/JNow switch is here as Bogdan has written 3 years ago. If this expires now, let it. Else confirm and write what's wrong now.
