If I put in -1446BC, looking for specific star cluster, the time of day is off and I have to advance the clock to around midnight to get the sun to do down.

Is the location set to your current location, or is it in another time zone? You have to compensate for such differences manually.

Also, please have in mind that Stellarium uses astronomical year numbering, so year -1446 is actually 1447BC.

And do mind that Stellarium is not very suitable for archaeoastronomy or celestial navigation, due to a number of reasons, including but not limited to: the way celestial objects are rendered, limitations of rounding and precision in floating point operations, lack of simulation of atmospheric refraction, etc.

Thanks for the help Bogdan. I think it's closer in time when I adjust
location. Thanks again.

Is the location set to your current location, or is it in another time
zone? You have to compensate for such differences manually.
