Bug Description

I was using Stellarium 0.10.3 on an HP Pavilion notebook running Windows XP SP3 with 2.0Gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 video adapter.

Stellarium 0.10.3 would crash 5 to 40 seconds after startup. Also, the fonts for some languages (can't determine which) are unreadable in the "location" drop-down list; that is, the string display includes boxes and/or other strange characters. I tried the video workaround in the INI file, to no effect.

I have uninstalled 0.10.3 and reverted to 0.10.2, where these problems do not exist.

Since my upgrade to 0.10.3, it inevitably crashes after 5-10 seconds. I get the message:

C:\DOCUME~1\AdminWV\LOCALS~1\Temp\a315_appcompat.txt

But when I go look for this file it doesn't even exists.

So I'm stuck. Downgrade Back to 0.10.2 I guess?

Regards,
Steppen

on a nivida 8300GS with 196.21 nvidia driver on windows xp SP3, i got something almost the same.

it seems to be the sun or an object near the sun that cause the crash. here it is 10:20 pm and when i launch stellarium i have the sun in the left of my screen. if i move right with my mouse. i am the able to move the time to the night and use stellarium without problem.

but if i move to the left and try to place the sun in the middle of the screen, it crashes. also if i continue to move the time so that the sun rise again onto the screen (so that i see it it rise), it crasqhes again.
so this made me think an object on the left of the sun cause that crash when it is viewable on the screen. Venus ?

for the record, i use default location, paris and it is 2010-02-09 09:23 UTC

well it is even more random that i previously described it.
if i make show up the bottom or left panel, it's ok. but if i hover my mouse over a button in those panel. it crashes immediatly stellarium.
it must be a bug with qt and nvidia.

something seems to trigger the bug and i don't know what. because sometimes, i am able to use stellarium for some times.
