Stellarium 0.17 crashes when panning to new view

Downloaded the latest Stellarium 0.17 and installed on two Macs...one running Yosemite 10.10.5 , the other El Captitan 10.11.6. I was previously running version 0.15 with no issues

Stellarium 17 opens fine , but when I pan to a new view direction by click-dragging the Mouse along the horizon , Stellarium 17 CRASHES EVERY TIME.

I will downgrade back to version 0.15, which was working fine.

( Crash reports were automatically sent to Apple, but expect no help from them for OS 10 and OS 11)

I am no longer running the latest version of Steallarium that was
crashing. I reverted back to v 0.15 , which as I noted works fine for
me...on both Macs and two separate operating systems...Yosemite and El
Capitan , whch are 2-3 releases behind Apple's latest OS
