Does V0.14 work? ANGLE mode? (See FAQ for details). Logfile can be found in the start menu Stellarium->Last Run Log.

I have installed version 14, and I now get an additional message. "Your
OpenGL subsystem has problems, see log for details. Ignore and suppress this
notification in the future, and try to continue in a degraded mode anyway?
Options Ignore Abort.

The Log file has not been created, I believe because the program has not
run properly.

Do you have any more Ideas.

My computer is a Samsung R510.

Regards Geoff Walker.

Did you ignore or abort?
We need Stellarium's logfile, not Windows' crash event log.
In any case, you may be lucky to follow the ANGLE path as described in the FAQ. If not, use V0.12.

Finally I have found the log file that you required, it was in the
/AppData/Roaming/Stellarium folder which was hidden. I had to search the entire
drive for log.txt fiIes. Which I now have attached the file as you requested.
I now hope this will help you resolve my problem.

Sorry for the time taken to find the requested file.

Many thanks Geoff W.

The log indicates some trouble with the telescope plugin. Edit config.ini (in the same hidden directory) and in section named [plugins_load_at_startup] set TelescopeControl=false. Or delete config.ini to create a new one.

Also note that as expected your outdated graphics hardware likely will show some artifacts. You can try with the link to ANGLE mode. Plus, follow FAQ about 0.14 to set your DirectX to version 9.

Thank you for your help, I have marked Wide Angle as true, and Telescope
Control as false, and it was the latter change that allowed the software to
run. The only thing is that the bottom tool bar is missing.

Many thanks.

No idea about wide angle. If you don't see the buttons, you must use ANGLE mode and follow FAQ about 0.14 to set your DirectX to version 9.
