Bug Description

I’m not sure this is a bug, but I noticed that the Moon is just like the ones in previous versions 12.4 and back. Especially, When viewed at lower magnifications. “See screenshot link.” I noticed this change in the latest version 13.3, but the Moon still look’s the same at higher magnifications as all the versions 13.0 – 13.2. This is the most realistic rendition of the Moon of date in Stellarium.

All of this might not be a bug, but I didn’t see anything about this change in any release notes.

We had a reverse complaint about missing lunar halo which hides the moon altogether when zooming out... Maybe we can improve on the mixing and have the textured moon appear earlier. However in this zoom level the moon *is* just an overly bright blotch, compare with wide-angle photos!

You can edit ssystem.ini and in the [moon] section, set halo=false.

Thanks for such a quick response to the issue. In truth, I think the bright halo around the Moon in this version is much more realistic than the previous versions 13.0 – 13.2 of Stellarium. Personally, I would leave it alone, it really look’s good. Sorry for any inconvenience.
