Please give info about your system: operating system, GPU and drivers.

1. Please give info about FPS before enable the "Observability" plug-in and after enable.
2. Which error? Please write error message.

3. If you choose planet with atmosphere in Location window, then enabled atmosphere effects is correct.

I, too, see a significant slowdown in FPS (50% or more) with Observability Analysis turned on. But I never thought it to be a problem though - just the added calculations and overlay of the text. I've not had any crashes associated with this plugin yet.

I have noted that if you turn off the Atmosphere and then click on the Location /compass icon the Atmosphere will turn back on. Also if you change locations, the atmosphere turns back on. I don't know if this a bug or "just the way it is"..

My observation about when the Observability plugin slows down.

If I turn on the Observability plugin I see a 60% drop in performance. 45FPS down to 18FPS. This is with no object selected.
But if I select an object and then turn on the Observability plugin I see perhaps a 1-2% drop in performance.
Just toggle back and forth between an object and the background sky to see this..

Why it happens I of course do not know. To me this is a low-importance bug or another "just-how-it-is" sort of thing.

As a general rule, separate issues should be tracked in separate bug reports.

So, which one of the two issues is classified as "Confirmed, Medium"?

Report from 2012. Still relevant? One of the PCs mentions antique graphics hardware. I think if Janitor expired something of this kind, it should be left buried. There are enough real issues to go after.
