Bug Description

Brief Description

When installing AIO-SX in Virtualbox, the default platform memory reservations are too low, resulting in a critical memory alarm.

Severity

Major

Steps to Reproduce

Install AIO-SX in Virtualbox. I used VDM with the default configuration.

Expected Behavior

System comes up with no alarms.

Actual Behavior

There is a critical alarm for entity "host=controller-0.memory=platform". The text is:

Memory threshold exceeded ; threshold 90.00%, actual 92.72%

Reproducibility

Reproducible

System Configuration

AIO-SX

Load info (eg: 2022-03-10_20-00-07)

22-12 GA

Last Pass

Suspect it's been this way since moving to Debian. CGTS-41267 increased the platform reservation by 2GiB for AIO, but not on Virtualbox.

Timestamp/Logs

N/A

Alarms

Critical platform memory alarm as described above.

Test Activity

Developer Testing

Workaround

Manually modify the platform memory reservation to reserve more memory for the platform.

Increase platform memory reserve on AIO in VBOX

When installing an AIO-SX in virtualbox it always end up with a lab
that is degraded due to the platform memory threshold being exceeded
its because default platform memory reservations are too low
resulting in a critical memory alarm.

Increase platform memory reserve on AIO hosts in VBOX

    Test Plan:
PASS: Install AIO-SX And confirm platform memory reserve in
    collectd logs.
PASS: No critical memory alarm is seen
