Need a way to upload packs of parts

Bug Description

Currently the spread Ubuntu website promotes the idea of having complete media posted so that it can readily reused in whole by LoCo teams.

What it lacks is the ability to upload sets of images which are not media, but are instead resources to be used in other media.

My wish is that such a gallery would be limited to SVG files only.

If this is not a good idea then perhaps we should have a ccHost based website to handle resources like this.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your feedback!

Couldn't it just be uploaded in the 'other' category?

I agree with the idea you lay down, but do not see why the section
should be limited for SVGs only. I would argue that image files could
also be added (JPG, GIF, PNG ++) and potentially be used. A PDF could
also easily be converted into a bitmap and added as a SVG element
easily.

Best regards,

I have considered adding this before.

What I would do is create a new section to the site, seperated from the "materials" gallery. This would only contain what I would probably call "components". Things that alone are not materials, but are used to make materials.

Could include:
 - SVG Logos
 - Templates - (brochures, slideshows, disk labels and packaging cutouts)
 - Snippets of text

Let me know what else you think would be useful things to help material creation.
It helps to know all of the ways it would be used before trying to create it. What is needed.

I like the idea of having the "Resourses" or "Components" page with logos, maybe the Ubuntu brand guide and all colour variations of logo in svg. Additionally as mentioned before some kind of texts, facts, slogans, photos (preferably those approved by Canonical if anywhere available) etc, that could be used on materials.

There's one more thing I would propose. I know there is a 'Website buttons' section, but I would add a separate section for website banners for those wishing to spread the world on the websites, there's never enough of free advertising. Best if it could be somehow filterable by size, ie. leaderboard, full banner, sky scraper, etc. And a bit more complex part in case someone does a full set of banners, it might be useful to be able to use multiple upload option.
