Settings schema 'org.soundconverter' is not installed

When I configure soundconverter with a prefix
    ./configure --prefix="$PATH_UNDER_HOME"

and then "compile" and try to run it I get the following:
    (python3:18787): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.soundconverter' is not installed

I can make it run by doing the following:
    XDG_DATA_DIRS="$XDG_DATA_DIRS:$PATH_UNDER_HOME/share" $PATH_UNDER_HOME/bin/soundconverter

After that is works and mostly seems to work much, much better than the version package in debian.
