SoundConverter app crashes after start converting files from m4a to mp3

This is what I get from terminal:

I'm not sure if this started to happen after 15.10 upgrade. It only happens, as far as I know, when converting from m4a to mp3 or any m4a file to any other format.

I'm using Ubuntu 15.10.

I can confirm, running 15.10 and receiving the same error any time I try to convert any Apple Lossless (.m4a) music file to any other format.

Also get the same error trying to convert files from flv to mp3. The problem does not appear to be related to the file types involves. I am running 15.10.

Same error when converting mp4 to mp3.

Getting this on anything to do with reading AAC audio.

Same audio plays back OK in totem, which might indicate it's not a gstreamer issue.

FLAC converts without problems. I haven't tried any other formats.

Installing the xenial package (3.0.0~alpha1+git20151209-1) from http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/soundconverter in Ubuntu 15.10 fixes the issue for me.
