Bug Description
While trying to reproduce bug 1205828, I cancelled the GStreamer plugin search dialog (just out of interest) only to find that SoundConverter would not display that dialog again for subsequent attempts to (re)start conversion. It became necessary to restart SoundConverter. Clearing the list or (re)adding other files of the same type was no cure either.
