Bug Description

When you do conversions and choose to put output files into a specific folder, you can't change it to anything other than your home folder. You can select the directory with the filechooser dialog, and it seems to remember the selection when you try again, but it continues to say, "Into folder /home/trent" (example on my machines), and when you do the actual conversion, the files are dumped into your home folder.

soundconverter --debug output:

SoundConverter 2.0.1
  using Gstreamer version: 0.10.36
  using 8 thread(s)
  using gio
closing...

Operating system is Xubuntu 12.10.

I installed a Xubuntu 12.10, but cannot reproduce the problem.
When I change the output folder, the change is effective.

What folder are you trying to write to?
You are using the right button when closing the filechooser dialog?

I'm trying to set the output folder to /home/mario/Music/mp3. And yes, I am using the "Open" button to confirm. Then the file chooser window closes and the Sound Converter preferences remain set to /home/mario/.

This was an Ubuntu 12.04.1 install immediately upgraded to Quantal some time before Beta 1. Running Unity.

In my case, I create a folder, /tmp/Converted, and try to select it. I use the Open button, and nothing changes. For giggles, I tried the cancel button and it doesn't work either. I tried a location inside my home folder as well to no avail.

That will be fixed by the patch attached to bug 1063724: SoundConverter hangs when selecting files from "Add folder"
