Bug Description

I found that in the repositories for Ubuntu Karmic Koala is add-apt-repository, but there isn't a package for removal of the launchpad repositories added via add-apt-repository. So I created a script remove-apt-repository.
I do not know if it can be inserted in the backports repository.
My script and debian package can be found here: http://www.sourceslist.eu/guide/script-remove-apt-repository/

Alessandro, if you want to add a new package to Ubuntu, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages. Backports are not about that.

Instead of introducing a new package, you may be better off adding your script to the software-properties package, so I'm reassigning this bug.

I took a swing at this, making use of the softwareproperties library and basically doing add-apt-repository backwards.

In the end, I think that add and remove should be one script that takes 'add' or 'remove' as a parameter, then does it's business.

But that's another bug.
