Bug Description
The Ubuntu Store sends out emails with status updates about published snaps. The body of these emails prepends an extra 'v' to the version number. For example, it will show 'vv0.9.0'. The version number appears correctly as 'v0.9.0' in the email subject.

There are 3 instances of "Version v" in the e-mail templates, and 3 more instances to update in test code.
Since the version could be a more or less arbitrary string, I think it makes sense to remove the prepended "v" since it can produce things like what's described here and the one I just saw, a version called "edge" which appears in the e-mail as "vedge".
I'll triage and add a task for the appropriate project.
