Bug Description

After uploading a snap that required a manual review, I received an e-mail from Snap Store <email address hidden> that requested more information. It was not obvious from the contents of the e-mail where I should provide that information. I would have expected to be able to reply to that e-mail, but it has no reply-to header, and given the sender address I’m guessing replies go to /dev/null.

I would expect to be able to reply to the e-mail directly to provide the requested information, or to have a direct link in the e-mail that takes me to the web UI to provide that information.

I just tested the situation of where a "manual review" is needed after uploading a snap revision.

The mail I got already provides links to the the store in general, but also to the snap that was pushed, and another link to the specific revision that was flagged as "manual review needed".

If you visit this later link, you'll see at the bottom of the page that there is a a section for the status of the review, and there you will find a detailed explanation on what to do for the issue your upload had.

Is this enough for what you was requesting?

Thanks!

It's not that there is no way to provide the required information, the problem is that it's hard to find where to provide that information.

Quoting the original e-mail that made me file that bug:

« Feedback for version 61.0.3163.39 (1) upload of chromium.osomon.
I was surprised to see this snap under the 'osomon' name and not 'canonical'. Is this an officially supported snap?

Ideally, the user should be able to just reply to that e-mail with the required information without having to open the web UI. I understand that's a feature request, probably not trivial to implement, and not high priority, so feel free to ignore.
But at the very least the wording should be improved to make it very clear where the user is expected to provide that information. There are three hyperlinks in that e-mail, and the text doesn't tell me which of them I should click to provide that information. And if I do click the right link, I still have to scroll to the bottom of the page. I think that's poor UX. Can the wording of the e-mail be updated to make it obvious where to click to provide the information, and can the link itself include an anchor that will take the user to the right place on the page without having to scroll?

Ah, I understand better now!

The mail you were talking about is not the one the system sends to tell you that the upload was sent to manual review (as I thought initially), but the one the system sends to ask you for feedback after a manual review was conducted.

In this case we do have the possibility of providing a link to where the feedback should be given.

I'll work on that.

Thanks!
