Snapd won't install anbox, Character error

Bug Description

Not sure is this is an anbox issue or a snapd issue, but this happens every time I try to install. It runs the download until 100% and then this error appears

 # snap install --classic anbox-installer

I have the similar problem trying to install openhab

Thanks for reporting this. I just tried installing both anbox-installer and openhab on Ubuntu 16.04.03 and it seems to work fine. Can you provide more information about the version of the system and snapd? Does the problem happen when the system is fully updated?
