Bug Description

I think that such interfaces are required to properly support desktop apps. Currently for example Libreoffice is limited to a few bundled fonts. This can be lifted, but needs to delete /snap/libreoffice/[version]/.local-[LOversion]/share/fonts (read-only by default), create it again and then put new fonts there).

Also other apps wanting to see fonts, icons and themes (as far as I expect) need to pack in snaps every possible solution, limiting interation with system's UI.

Creating "fonts", "themes" and "icons" interfaces could allow to share the resources and allow apps to just use the fonts, icons and themes provided by OS.

Thank you for filing a bug.

We need fonts, themes and icons need to be better supported, and this is something the desktop team is looking at: https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/ubuntu-desktop-team-priorities/1397. This isn't going to be handled by separate interfaces though, so I'm going to close this bug. I suggest reviewing the forum topic (above) and participating in the conversation there to ensure your concerns are addressed.
