This issue is now fixed in the pi2-gadget snap https://github.com/snapcore/pi2-gadget/blob/master/snapcraft.yaml#L79 and in the pi3-gadget snap https://github.com/snapcore/pi3-gadget/blob/16/snapcraft.yaml#L81
