Bug Description

Testing the beaglebone and trying to reproduce a problem Paul is having on the lab we found that on the first boot, the board doesn't get an ipv4 address assigned.

Tested in beaglebone black revC, rolling edge #191.

(BeagleBoneBlack)ubuntu@localhost:~$ ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 84:eb:18:93:41:5a

After a reboot, the v4 address is there:

I was able to save the syslog from the first boot where I didn't get an ipv4 address: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12697260/

I've seen this happen on both boards in the lab, and was just able to confirm it on the one I have at home also

Same here, this is the complete screen log [1]. It seems that the missing bits when it fails are:

  Created slice system-ifup.slice.
  Found device /sys/subsystem/net/devices/eth0.

hey Paul, I'm now getting an IP in my beaglebone without problems. Are you still having the issue in the lab?
