Bug Description

When I follow the recommended instructions for trying snappy on Ubuntu

  kvm -m 512 -redir :8090::80 -redir :8022::22 ubuntu-core-alpha-01.img

I get this error:

  kvm: -redir :8022::22: 'ide0-hd0' uses a qcow2 feature which is not supported by this qemu version: QCOW version 3
  kvm: -redir :8022::22: could not open disk image ubuntu-core-alpha-01.img: Operation not supported

I'm using qemu-kvm 1.0+noroms-0ubuntu14.21

  $ kvm --version
  QEMU emulator version 1.0 (qemu-kvm-1.0)

How can I try snappy out on Precise?
