Bug Description

I'm trying to find a way to host a local snap store so I can work on a snap, push it to the snap store on my MAAS server and then install the snap on nodes behind my MAAS server. Thus, I want to run a local snap store on my MAAS server.

My first hit while searching was a blog by Dustin about running snapstore-example. That doesn't work now, because the author has removed snapstore-example, and cleared out his github repo stating:

"snapstore was a minimalist example of a "store" for snaps, but is not compatible with the current snapd implementation. As a result I have removed the contents here to avoid further confusion."

So I started looking further and the docs on snapcraft.io also refer to the now defunct snapstore-example and the no-longer-useful github:

https://github.com/noise/snapstore/

You can find the bad information here:

https://snapcraft.io/docs/core/store

Please update the snapcraft.io documents with information on how to create a locally hosted snap store so I don't have to wait on internet downloads (my upload speed is only 1.5Mb/s, uploading snaps takes a long time)

affects: snapcraft → snapd

Thanks Jeff, as a first step to clear this up, I'll drop the now misleading paragraph on snapcraft.io.

Is this still a problem? I.e. did the documentation update from David clarify this now?
