Bug Description

Use case:

For a file saved by the user I want to provide an "open in file manager" option. A generic way to do this is using org.freedesktop.FileManager1.

It would be great if snapd would provide an interface for this use case.

Another option would be to support org.freedesktop.portal.OpenURI from https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal . This might even be more secure, since it will show the user a selection dialog for which app to use prio to launching anything.

Maybe have a xdg-desktop-portal interface.
