Bug Description

Snap version of firefox was working fine until until I checked the "Pre-released updates (bionic-proposed) and performed a system update. I am now running Ubuntu 18.04.4 with Unity desktop and kernel 5.4.0-37.41

Starting firefox from terminal results in the following error message:

~$ sudo snap run --trace-exec firefox
[sudo] password for mark:
mkdir: cannot create directory '/run/user/0': Permission denied
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /snap/firefox/372/libxul.so:
libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
Slowest 10 exec calls during snap run:

  0.013s /bin/mkdir
  0.047s /bin/rm

  0.018s /snap/firefox/372/tmpdir

I can start firefox by going into /snap/firefox/current and clicking on the firefox executable file. In fact as a workaround I created a firefox.desktop file shown below, but I suspect I am running in an unconfined manner by so doing...

#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Terminal=false
Exec=/snap/firefox/current/firefox
Name=firefox
Comment=
Icon=/home/mark/.local/share/icons/firefox.png

Name[en_US]=firefox

===============================================================================================
Update: The firefox snap started working today. The only change to the system that I noted was the snap "gnome-3-34-1804" was updated to version 46

This bug should be closed now.
