Bug Description
The typical snap user is never actually exposed to the "latest" track by name, since all tools default to using it. Except snapcraft, in the case of stage-snaps. In order to use a stage snap from, say, the edge channel, one must also specify "latest":
stage-snaps: [foo/latest/edge]
This is assumed knowledge, and other tools in the snap ecosystem don't work this way. Snapcraft should default to using the "latest" track when one is not specified, for example:
stage-snaps: [foo/edge]
