emoj snap fails to build inside Docker on Mac

The emoji snap (https://github.com/popey/emoji) complains about conflicting files, but only under Docker for Mac:
'/Users/ev/Branches/emoj/parts/emoji/install/bin/emoj' and '/Users/ev/Branches/emoj/stage/bin/emoj' are the same file

I'm running 2.29.1 on Ubuntu (the snapcraft snap) and 2.29 in the snapcore/snapcraft Docker image on Mac.

Can you run this with --debug?
Also, does hfs+ support or get confused with the use of hard links?
