Bug Description

In the Snap Store desktop app, I can see apps that I have installed, and on the individual page for each of those apps I can remove an app and see and alter its permissions, but I can't launch that app. App stores on other platforms tend to provide a Launch button to launch an app from the app store view of it; this would be a good thing to add to the snap store app too, from a user experience point of view. (Having to look at my snap store app description and then go off to search for that same app in my launcher is inconvenient.)

(There may be permission problems with one snap launching another, but I feel that actual users don't care about that technical detail.)

yes, there is an issue with snaps not being able to launch other snaps. We have plans to resolve this, but I don't have an ETA yet.

I have the same problem. The Launch button disappeared in Ubuntu 20.04. But it was presented in previous Ubuntu versions.

How could this be released? Looks like a showstopper bug. People install apps, but can't launch them. Instead they should find installed apps in the start menu.

I tend to think that this is a very important feature in the user experience of newcomers.

Can we resolve the snap to launch with some workaround ?
