Unable to update snap-store via software center (because software center is running)

Ubuntu Software Center notified me of an available update of "Snap Store". Clicking on the update button, however results in following error message (see also attached screenshot):

"Unable to update "Snap Store": (null): cannot refresh "snap-store": snap "snap-store" has running apps (ubuntu-software)"
