Bug Description

Imported: http://tracker.labix.org/issue325

Reason: Review Issue. Effectively this is a request to separate python/system errors from smart errors?

Smart includes a --log-level option to print debugging output. However, with
--gui, this information is presented in a separate dialog window. This isn't
particularly useful; if the program hangs or crashes then there's no way of
getting at the debug info. Please have smart send its logs (especially
debugging/troubleshooting messages like errors and warnings) to stderr and/or to
a logfile instead.
