Slingshot occasionally freezes and can't close out

Bug Description
I have two different elementary OS Loki laptops that are up to date and they both have the same issue. The Slingshot app launcher will randomly freeze when it is opened. You can't click on anything, and you can't get it to close. It will sometimes take a minute or two for it to exit and allow you to try again. Even if you switch workspaces it will stay open. I think it happens most just after log in.
