Slingshot cannot be clicked through a hot corner

Finally realized why I had so much trouble opening Slingshot: the "Applications" button on Wingpanel is only clickable if the mouse is over the (invisible) button boundaries, but there exists some sort of hidden rounded button corner on the top left... which is exactly where I click 99% of the time. My technique, Fitts-style, is to slam the mouse into the infinite edge that is the screen corner and then click, which results in nothing happening.

The (clickless) hotcorner feature is a separate thing in my humble opinion, and I might also choose to not have an action bound to the hotcorner itself.
