Menu grayed out in list view in Slingshot

It happens most time now, not sure if its a feature now or not. But when Slingshot is in list view, the menu options on the left are a light gray and contrast to the dark gray when selected or with text on the right.

Had to take photo as cant take screenshot while Slingshot is open.

The slingshot version in the screencast is older than current, but this still exists in the latest version. 0.7.6.1.

Confirming bug.
Well actually the first time you launch slingshot after login the menu is not grayed out, but the second time you launch slingshot and onwards it gets grayed out.
Every time I log out and back in again slingshot gets reset.
