Zeitgeist no longer optional

Commit 422 breaks optional zeitgeist support as implemented for #1274950. This is due to the fact that synapse now requires zeitgeist. I have not looked into it closely, but is the synapse view required, or can it be made optional, or alternatively can we make zeitgeist in synapse optional?

I'm going to mark this as wishlist. I mean basically we just use Zeitgeist. If someone wants to make the search view a compile-time option (which I think basically that would mean), more power to them. But I wouldn't consider this any kind of priority.

As far as I know, Zeitgeist is used in the search view and could be used in other views in the future. Without Zeitgeist, you'd be completely losing these views. I'm not sure that it's worth completely halving the functionality of our launcher; at that point, using an alternative launcher might seem more appropriate.

I guess it's still up for discussion/a wishlist item, but I personally don't see much value.
