Bug Description

Pressing Alt-F2 brings up the Applications menu, but the cursor in the search box is always unblinking, and the input doesn't go into it even after I try clicking it, the input always goes into whatever application is open in the background.

This behavior exhibits itself sometimes even when the Applications menu is opened by clicking on the top left button, but I haven't been able to find any pattern to that at all - under the same set of circumstances (clicking the button when in a maximized application, or an unmaximized one, or from the Desktop) it's sometimes searchable and sometimes not.

affects: appcenter → elementaryos

I have this issue as well. I noticed that it has something to probably do with the focus of the window - and is probably related to Gnome/GTK.

The laucher is not able to search for me either.
It never works for me no matter if I click on 'Applications' to launch it or I use 'alt+F2'.
After I type something to search, the launch panel freezed and also I cannot start any application in that menu.
I finally use 'alt+F2' again to quit launch panel.

I'm unable to reproduce this. Is this issue still affecting you all?
