I think that it's perfect, if you add a fade out effect you'll have: 1) More Ram use; 2) More time to reopen the minimized apps.
And if the first isn't so important on a Gnu/Linux Distro (the standard ram use is very low), the second is in perfect elementary style.
Everything IMHO, of course
